  • My rendition of this challenge:

Tried to cut the heart with the Cricut and couldn't quite get it where I wanted it.  Wishing I had some heart dies right about now.

    "Coloring" my lace

     ...and the ribbon

Embossed the background paper with a Cuttlebug D'Vine Swirls and adding the extras

    Some Ranger Flamingo Liquid Pearls

A little satin ribbon for the tag

    Close up of the top

    Close up of bottom

This was originally to be the front but had trouble getting the cutout in the center on my Cricut -
so just used it for the back instead of wasting great designer paper.

All of the papers used in this are the

    "Parisian DayDream" Printable Journal Kit

     available from Daisy's store at:

I really love the colors and the incredible designs in this set.

Go check it out and don't forget to enter the challenge for a chance to win.

    Blessings!

Tammy's Scraping Corner Challenge #51 - Paper Piecing

I have the pleasure of being your Guest DT today at Tammy's Scrapin Corner!

 Paper Piecing Challenge!

I will honestly admit to ALL of you that I have
 NEVER
done Paper Piecing before and
actually had to watch a few tutorials and look for examples.
I'm hoping that my interpretation of this is correct.
I'm learning that this IS a learning process for me and
I'm grateful to everyone who posts instructions and
step by step photos to
help the rest of us create the best possible
 art that we can.

Our sponsor for this challenge is

  Bugaboo Stamps

and Tammy sent me a couple of great images
to work with her Paper Piecing Challenge!

Originally I wanted to distress the
cloud "background" paper
(which is actually just parchment paper)
and I crumpled it ripped the edges and took a nail file to some of it.

I liked the look of it
until
I attempted to distress the edges and
used the wrong color ink.
 No match -
back to the drawing board!

Try number 2
Plan  "B" - ended up getting a coat of
Goosebumps
for added texture and shine and
I was happy with that plan.

I embossed and cut out my image and
repeated the same mistake with the
wrong color ink and ended up cutting out
ANOTHER
Jesse and using the cut out as my base to add my layers (pieces)
This worked,
 (Thanks Goodness!)

Now I'm getting ready to put it all together.

By the way, the reason Jesse is
 "BLUE"
is that I just received my very first set of
(I've only ever had some 30 year old
watercolor pencils that I've been using).

I bought the 4 pen set (Christmas Bundle) from
and I had lots of blue, red, green but very little browns in the
Essential pack that came with it,
(next purchase or hopefully WINNING them somehow)
will be some browns and yellows and pinks and purples and.....

The sentiment is from a VERY old
(15+ years) called
 Celestial Projects from
 The Rubber Stamp Factory
which was purchased at WalMart.

I love the sentiment and use it on quite a few of my cards.
 I embossed it with
 Brown Sugar Opaque Powder
and once it dried I applied a layer of the
 Goosebumps
 (texture spray) to it

I added some Crystal Sparkles (Tulip Productions)
on the bottom edges of the sentiment and
 randomly on the background.

Gold glitter on Jesse's halo and the starts and some clear on his wings and the cloud.

I'm eagerly awaiting comments on
whether or not the
whole process was done correctly,
so let 'em fly ya'll!!!

Now get out there and win some freebies from Tammy!

Good Luck!

Blessings.
Trudy

Incy Wincy Challenge - Anything But A Card

Today is my last Guest DT Challenge
 for the great crafters at
 Incy Wincy.
 I've really enjoyed myself!
 Thanks for having me!

This week's sponsor at Incy Wincy's Challenge
 (Anything But A Card)
is

This little mouse couldn't possibly be cuter and when I saw that the
challenge was ABC -
I thought he would make a perfect Bottle Topper!

My mouse was colored with
markers and the sentiment stamped with an
Vintage Expressions clear stamp
(which I blocked on the sides where the dots were).

I want to credit
for the instructions and template for the bottle topper.
Thank You!!!

I layered 2 purple cardstock scraps on top of the grey base
and added punched holes on the sides, since I wanted to do this a little differently
(the last bottle topper I made didn't want to stay on the bottle -
this was my way of insuring that it arrived WITH the bottle)

Lots and Lots of Bling  and attached the digi with foam tape for added dimension.
Some sheer ribbon from a Dollar Tree and it is ready for gifting.

Now, one last note -
The "SHINE" sentiment was because this gift was
 for someone who made the
 Dean's List in College -
  not because I'm putting
Moon Shine in it!

I hope you enjoy this little happy guy!
Wishing you a great week!
Blessings!
Trudy

Hope for the Fighters, Peace for the Survivors and Prayers for the Taken

This adorable little puppy digi was a freebie sent to me by
 Sandi and Anne at

I

I am making myself use my new
 Spectum Noir markers,
even though I only have a "basic set" and
 not many colors
YET.
I really like them, but have
NEVER
used markers until I bought this set , so
it is quite a learning experience for me.

I heat embossed the "heart" in the center of the candy with some
Recollections Sparkle Embossing Glitz
and added the
 "dots"
with some white Liquid Pearls from Ranger

I planned on doing the
 Valentine/Love
 theme with this digi and
something kept coming into my mind to use it as a
"red ribbon"
card, instead.
I listen to those "feelings" now.....

I had these little "Hope" charms that I found awhile ago and had never used one - great timing.

The sentiment I read somewhere on line
(actually I think I read this sentiment and
that's how the inspiration came to me for the card),
used my word program and printed it out on white cardstock.

The ribbon is
 BRAND NEW
 - just got it this week when a neighbor was so kind as to let me
ride along with her to Michael's.
I was really wishing I had purchased a few more colors after I used it.

Notice I liked it so much I even made a collar for the little puppy :)

Tsunami Rose Challenge 8 - Color Inspiration

I just love the colors from Tsunami Rose Designs Parisian Daydream collection!
And I am so honored to be a member of their Design Team.
There is such an  amazing amount of talent and inspiration on this site -
GO CHECK IT OUT!!!

This is my interpretation of this weeks challenge:

You can join the challenge here.

 Tsunami Rose Designs Links

  • The inspiration for the layout was a Tsunami Rose Sketch #30 - October 2012.

And this is how is all went together:

     Stamping the sentiment
     (It's a Stampabilities which I found in a clearance bin at a
     Hobby Lobby for $1.39).
I've had this stamp for months and finally got the chance to use it recently.

     Cutting out "accents"

and giving them a coat of Gosebumps for texture

It's a little difficult to see in the photo but this ribbon is "glittery".
I bought it at  Dollar Tree around Halloween.
I cut off the wired edge, and folded it into a single strip.

     Adding feathers, ribbons and flowers
    - a bit messy -
This is primarily how I came about using
    "Sticky Fingers"
     as my blog "name".

Close of up sentiment and embellishments

I used to own a couple of little flower shops and still have
    BUNCHES
of supplies left that I'm trying to use up.
These were some silks that were left over from a
custom job we did for a customer.
     Perfect color match!
    Gotta Love It!

     The green
     "swirls"
     are actually pieces from the
     silk flowers
     which I simply
     curled with a knife.

My wish is that you have gotten some inspiration and
     get crafting.

You can get this beautiful journal set by following
    link or by
     winning Daisy's Challenge this week.

    Have a wonderful Wednesday!
    Blessings!

Incy Wincy POP IT UP Challenge

 Isn't she adorable!!!
She is from Sassy Studios collection who is our sponsor this week.

Head on over to Incy Wincy and check out all the wonderful creations for some inspiration!

The is my first attempt at any type of step or "cut out" type card.  It was so easy!!!  I'll be making more, for sure.

Embossing the "LOVE" stamp I found in the clearance bin at Michael's a few weeks ago -
I think I paid $1.50 or less for it and boy have I gotten
  allot
of use out of it!
If you don't believe me, just look through my blog photos!

This is Blushing Pink Pastel Opaque from
(LOVE the effect!!!)

These seem to be my "go to" dies - they are
A2 Matting Basics B.
(Someday I'm going to own the "A" set too :)

The heart was "double layered" primarily because I knew it needed to be
 "stable" and not
flop over when attached to the top of the card,

I COVERED the back of the die cut heart
 (Cricut Best of 2006 cartridge)
 with feathers

The back was covered with another die cut, just to hide the "glue and feathered mess in the back".
Oh, my bad, I'm supposed to say
 "for ascetic purposes".

Close up of  the sentiment and bling.
(some Scor-Tape (1/8") and pink glitter and some
 great little flowers from
(from my winning stash - Yahoo!!!)

The digi, the heart and the sentiment block were all attached with foam tape to "pop em up".

Have fun with the challenge.
 Blessings!
Trudy
