Altered Box Challenge at FOSTV

This is my first altered box and I will certainly change things up a bit for my next one, that's for sure.

Since beginning on the paper crafting journey just last year, I have made it a point to share my mistakes and lack of coordination with you, and learning in the process that "it's only paper - throw it away/put it in the scrap pile" and try something different.

This week is no exception!

  • Mistakes #1 and #2 - This was a "padded satin box" from Dollar Tree.  Padded and Satin mean exactly THAT - it is very difficult to get other mediums to adhere to it (i.e. - STUFF WON'T STICK)  and padded mean's that it MOVES when you are trying to work on it.

  •  Mistake #3 - Don't try to use the hot glue gun for everything when doing altered art, especially if you can't control the flow of glue. It shows.

  • Mistake #4 - Avoid "playing" with the editor and all the effects in Photoscape when you have absolutely no idea HOW to use the thing properly.  Seems I'm so busy making stuff that I don't bother to ready any of the instructions (and that includes new tools in the studio).

Please check out the challenge rules and don't forget to link up your cards to Speedy TV and the Friends of Speedy TV challenge.
We have many other challenges here on Speedy TV and you may want to check those out too!
Please link up your FOSTV entries by 3pm on Sunday

You could be the owner of this stamp set if your entry is chosen the winner of the challenge

Wishing you a beautiful and blessed week.

  1. Thanks for sharing all the "fun" you had. Makes me feel better - I was making something at the weekend and had to remove a layer because of messy glue and then start that bit again. Your box turned out sweet in the end.

  2. I think your box turned out beautiful Trudy! I can imagine it would be hard to work on the satin though :)
