I'm curious if anyone noticed that I attached my Designer Paper upside down on my card base!

Love To Create wants you to use 3 of your favorite embellishments for their challenge this week.

I've used Lace, Ribbon and Rhinestones!!!

This is, sadly, my last post as a DT for Love To Create.  I have fulfilled my term and have decided to take a little break, especially through the holidays, to re-group a little bit.  You will still be seeing my creativity periodically and I am hoping the the extra time I'm gaining will allow me to work on some altered art/re-use projects that have been formulating in my idea center and in my sketch book.

Hopefully you will follow along and see what creations find themselves in the studio in the near future.

This digital image I'm using today is from one of our very generous sponsors,
Wings and Willows
It's called Save The Date
and you can purchase it here.

I'm curious if anyone noticed that I taped my designer paper upside down on my card base!

We are now offering the WINNER(s) the opportunity to join us
as a Guest Designer for a future Challenge! Good Luck!!!

Our Guest Designer spots are presently filled through the end of 2013.
We are starting a waiting list for 2014.
WINNERS & NON-WINNERS please send an e-mail to ...

Love To Create is having a Sketch Challenge

I love sketch challenges, maybe because I'm one of those who doesn't always plan a layout and details prior to beginning a creation.  I get my image in front of me first, start looking at papers and just dive in.
Believe me, this system doesn't always result in a good ending (some projects end up in the Lost and Found area of my studio aka Never Never Land).
However, there are those times when you just sit back and smile at the results.
 I'm sure you can relate.

Challenge #92
Sketch

My inspiration card for you today was created around this adorable digital from one of our great sponsors this week;

 Whoopsi Daisy.

And here is your sketch!

As you can tell, I don't always follow the sketch exactly, I have this need to "do my own thing, ya know, walk to the beat of a different drummer, take the road less traveled, etc.

The 5 1/2" x 5 1/2" base is made from White Colorbok card stock and utilitizes a top fold.  The next layer (Cartaa Bella 6 x 6 Winter Fun by Carina Gardner) designer paper is cut to 5 1/4" x 5 1/4"
The blue metallic cardstock (Shimmer Matstack from DCWV, Inc.) is cut approximately 3" x 4 3/4"  and topped with white (cut to fit), which was dry embossed with The Paper Studio's A2 Snowflakes folder.
I did the reverse (blue on white) for the second layer.
Die cut center focal point with Spellbinders Shapeabilities Parisian Motifs Die and cut circle to fit for the center.

The tag is cut from Parisian Accents (Spellbinders) die and topped with a circle cut to size from the blue metallic card stock.
It is then stamped with your sentiment which is a
 sneak peek
at one of the great sentiments on the  Lots of Words 2013 set which will be released in December of 2013 by Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps (a Hendrich Company).

I colored my image with colored pencils, and added the shimmer and puffiness with Tulip Glitter Diamond Dimensional Fabric Paint (my local WalMart was out of white puffy paint, which was my first choice after seeing the DT card from Amanda this week - check it out here).

The corner pieces were cut from the same Spellbinders Parisian Motifs die set and painted with the Tulip Diamond Glitter.

Silver ribbon was secured with my ATG.

I added the first panel with the ATG.

And then the second. ( I did not measure where these panels went, just placed them where I felt comfortable with them).

The glitter paint was brushed on the center die cut and circle, then the image was mounted with foam tape.  The entire piece was attached to the card with the ATG and additional micro dots where needed.

I added a bow with a Recollections Adhesive Snowflake center, and lastly, the sentiment (with a little bling of your choice)

The Country Floral Oval from Becky's Place makes a terrific card to give Thanks!

The challenge theme this week at
 is
 "Thanks and/or Thanksgiving"

I've used this beautiful image from

 Beccy's Place,

 called

 Country Floral Oval,

for my DT inspiration card for you this week,

which you can purchase here.

 I started my card with a 5 1/2 x 4 1/4 white (Colorbok) card stock base and layered it with a 5 x 4 piece of designer paper (Colorbok 4.5 x 7.25 Photo Mats - Brights).

I cut another piece of the white card stock to 4 3/4 x 3 3/4
and "embossed/scored" a diagonal patter with my Scor-Pal at 1/2" increments and attached it to the pink designer paper with an ATG.
I added Flamingo Liquid Pearls to the scored intersecting lines, allowed to dry and added some scrap ribbon.  This was then attached to the card base using my ATG.
The image was completed using water color pencils and stamping the Thank You For Being My Friend sentiment (Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps - Autumn Friendship 2012 mini set) with Memento Rose Bud Ink.
I cut another oval piece of the designer paper to mount the image on.
Once this image and backing was attached to the card (ATG) I used the same Flamingo Liquid Pearls to accent the flower petals and centers.
A bow was added from the same ribbon, a piece of the designer paper added to the inside (this was scrap, and wasn't measured, just attached with the ATG).

It's just a sweet card!

I hope you have gotten a little inspiration from my card and think about joining in on the challenge this week.

Blessings,
Trudy

It's some unconventional colors that I've turned in to a Fall card.
I'm just really in the mood for fall/Thanksgiving colors
(even if they are a little unconventional).

Thank you to our Sponsor - Bugaoo Stamps for this adorable image called

This is such a simple card to make.

Some creepy cloth from Dollar tree, dollar tree table scatter and confetti.
A Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps (a Hendrich's Company), What a Scream 2013 stamp set
(for the sentiment inside of the card).
Image was circle cut and layered with black.
Everything attached with ATG and pop dots then sprayed with
Goosebumps for a more textured finish!

My first ATC

Love To Create has an ATC Challenge this week and it's the very first one I've ever made.

What adorable little things they are!

Our generous sponsor this week is A Day For Daisies

and I've used the Christmas Poinsettia image which I fussy cut (after coloring with my Spectrum Noir markers) and layered on top of holly berry leaves which were cut using the Best of 2007 images from my Cricket cartridges.

The card was dry embossed with a Paper Studio's A2 Snowflakes folder.

Once I got over the "fear" of making an ATC - it was so very easy.

Head on over to Love To Create and check out all of the DT inspiration for some ideas and enter the challenge for a chance to win a $15.00 gift certificate to spend as you wish.

Good Luck,
Happy Monday Morning
and
Blessings,
Trudy
