Easter Dogwood Cross for Tammy's Scrapin Corner #54

Eureka Stamps is our sponsor this week at
 Challenge #54 is Easter

This beautiful image is The Dogwood Cross

I liked this image so much that I made a second card with it.
Lucky you, you get a two for one today!
 I hope you enjoy them!!!

I layered a  of
5 1/4 x 4" piece of pink cardstock and a
 5 x 3 3/4" piece of turquoise cardstock over a
 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" base of white

I printed out the Dogwood Cross digi on white stock
Another piece of white was cut
 at 4 3/4" x 3 1/2"
cut with a
Spellbiders Shapeabilities Die D-Lite Medallion Four  die
in the top center to give it somewhat of a
"stained glass" look behind the cross.

The Dogwood Cross was colored with
Tim Holtz Peacock Feathers Distress Ink using a
sponge makeup wedge from my local discount store.
The flowers were colored with  water color pencils from
that I've had for almost 20 years.

All the layers were attached with my
ATC gun and the cross with foam tape
 (bought at local Home Depot
- remember I live in the COUNTRY
- no crafts stores anywhere near me).

Thanks for stopping by.
I hope I've given you a little inspiration for a simple but beautiful Easter Card.
Go check out all the stamps Eureka has and show
Tammy and my fellow DT's some love for the inspiration cards!
Who knows, you might be our next winner!

Have a great week!
Blessings,
Trudy

I Love To See You Bloom

I am a Design Team member for Tsunami Rose Designs.
This month we have been working with the
I like these papers so much that I decided to make a few "extras".

I made a step card for my DT entry this week and it got me searching online for
other variations other than just the
 Centre and Side Step Cards
.  I found this Trifold Shutter Card Template on
it was SO easy to use and understand.

The "new" template give you plenty of room to write a personal note on your card.
  (Thank you Sandy)

So here's my photo "recipe card":

This is the basic layout for the base of the card.  I am not going to give you all the dimensions since it is clearly outlined in Sandy's blog post.

Top view of base to better understand the folds

All of the papers used were "aged" with this brand new little
I just got today and a
Tim Holtz Old Paper Distress Ink
(this is turning out to be one of my 'go to' inks - I've been using it so often).

I attached all of the designer paper with my ATC being careful to try to line them all up

While the card was laying flat I added some 1/8" scor tape around the two
 1 3/4 x 1 1/4 panels
 and added some clear glitter
(you know a girl can NEVER have enough glitter and
I've had this glitter for so many years that this is about the end of it
(time to look into some of the new and improved that it now available).

I recently got this Spellbinders Shapeabilities
 Die D-Lites Flourish Trim
and this is the first card I've made with it.

I learned quickly that it is much easier to use if you put a layer of
 waxed paper
between the die and your cardstock before embossing and cutting.

I attached some generic clear "bling" rhinestones from my stash, and some decorative "corner" flourishes in a matching color (from Recollections) and positioned my sentiment and mounted it.

The flowers were cut with my Cricut George and Basic Shapes cartridge at 1", using more paper from Daisy's collection.
I watered down some Flamingo and Buttercup Liquid Pearls from Ranger and "painted" the flowers to give them some shine and dimension.
I cut the leaves from scraps of green (leftover from all of the St. Patrick's projects from the last week).
Of course a little rhinestone was added to the center of each one after mounting.

I enjoyed showing my creative side to you.
Have a beautiful and blessed day!
Trudy

Happy Birthday Card for MFP #37

This beautiful card is for MFP Speedy TV -
(Use Flowers and Birds - is the twist)

I just love the soft pastel colors on this card
and
the beautiful designer paper from

Here is the sketch:

And my usual photo "recipe card":

This card is a perfect example of exactly how layouts don't always go right and you have to go to plan "B"

Anyone notice that I taped the "image" upside down...... LOL
Guess I should have coffee BEFORE I start working on cards at 5:30 in the morning!

This is the embossed background I ended up using (right over the top of the first one).

This was the first try and the first layer - just didn't work right.

And once everything got turned around and right side up - it is a very nice card.

It's your turn now - head on over to

Heavenly Wishes from your St. Patrick's Angel

This little Angel Bear is from Bugaboo  - he is turning out to be one of my "go to" digis that I use frequently.
I just added a Shamrock to him (instead of his normal heart).
I "greened" it up with my Spectrum Noir pens.
distressed all the white cardstock with Ranger's Shabby Shutters Distress Ink,
blinged it up a little with Lime Green Liquid Pearls
and some stars from a discount store,
green glitter to his halo and clear to the
cloud and his wings,
I had this green ribbon left over from some time ago and it was just enough to fit this card
and that,
 my friends,
 pretty much finished it.

I'm having to make some step cards for other Design Teams I am on and
wanted to practice with a few.

It's a little over sized, but works.

Sorry for the not including my usual photo "recipe card",
but the batteries in the camera were dead and I was only able to get one shot.

They are on the charger, though, for my next project!
