Tiger Lilies

Orange Green and Gold Challenge

It's Thursday and that means it's time for a new Design Team

inspiration card for you

(and a chance to get a sneak peek at one of the newest releases

available later this month from Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps).

Color Challenge

Let's have fun with colors. Each week we will pick a color or colors for you to use on a card or other paper craft. Thrifty Stamper and her team will inspire you to use colors you may have not thought about using before.
Challenge Winner Guidelines
We encourage you to participate in all of our challenges, we would like to ask you to limit your submissions to 5 per challenge, per week. Each submission needs to be a new card (no cards that have been posted prior to the challenge date). Please do not submit the same card for every challenge, each submission should be a different card for each submission and each  challenge.

This A2 card was made with a moss green base 5 1/2 x 4 1/4".  The designer paper was cut to 4" x 5 1/4".  The gold - 3 1/2" x 5" and the burnt orange 4 3/4" x 3 1/4".  All but the base were taped with an ATG and the gold ribbon added randomly at the bottom of the panels.  Then attach them all to the card base with foam tape for some added dimension.

The tiger lilies (one of the newest stamps sets being released this month)  were stamped with ColorBox Black Archival and colored with Sharpie Markers
(per the great tutorial I found on Thrifty's Column which you can see here).

Tiger Lily 2014 Stamp Set available soon!!!

  The flowers were fussy cut

And attached to the card with foam tape

I had planned on using a sentiment in the bottom corner, but found this gold finding in my stash and decided it needed a little more gold.
I liked the card like this, but decided to add some flower soft to the stamen of each flower,
(which you can also buy at Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps)

You Are In My Prayers, Tsunami Rose Style

These designer papers from Tsunami Rose Designs are perfect for this 6" x 6" card, the subtle colors and softness works so well with the sentiment.

These beautiful papers are part of a collection which is about to be retired.
Daisy is having a terrific sale on many of these incredible papers on her Etsy and Zibbet shops.
Head on over to her shop before this sale is over and these are gone.

Gathering Supplies - what to use, what to use......

The Brown card base was cut 6" x 6".  The paper is cut 5 3/4" x 5 3/4".  The panel is 2" x 5 1/4" and the brown backing was trimmed to fit.  All layers are distressed with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo distress ink.

The layers are attached with an ATG

1 1/2" Score Tape is applied to the top and bottom of the cheese cloth before attaching the panel to the card front

The rose is cut from the second sheet of printed papers

After fussy cutting the rose the edges were distressed with the Vintage Photo Distress Ink

Goosebumps is sprayed on the rose for texture

The beading is from my stash and is added to the card with Tacky glue

The sentiment, a Mark's Finest Papers and Stamps set called Lots of Words 2013, was stamped with ColorBox Pigment Archival Black

Both layers are distressed on the edges with the Vintage Photo Distress Ink

Foam Pop Dots are applied to the rose and foam double sided tape to the sentiment blocks (each layer) and then attached to the card

The antique lace is died with Tim Holtz Vintage Photo Distress Stain .

The feathers were died with the Distress Stain and after drying, are attached with hot glue.
Add the cherub button and home made stick pins.

Copper colored parchment paper is cut 5 3/4" x 5 3/4"  to fit the inside of the card and attached with an ATG.
